Meander your way up the track to River Road Farmhouse, a beautiful, luxurious nature retreat in the heart of the Victorian High Country. The Farmhouse sits on a hidden rise above the Kiewa River, with sweeping views across the valley and to the mountains. Follow winding paths along stone terraced gardens, under majestic trees, up through orchards, vegetable garden and olive grove. The River Road Farmhouse is the perfect country getaway.

The farmhouse itself has been crafted using hand puddled mud bricks, milled timbers from the farm itself, recycled posts and local stone creating an atmospheric feel to this one of a kind space. Think rustic and earthy with a contemporary industrial edge. Enjoy a view from every window, of the extensive garden sweeping down to the creek one way, or back to the tennis court, the other.
As you enter the house, the staircase winds around the stunning stone fireplace up to the second floor. Downstairs, the fireplace is a central feature of the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge. It’s the perfect spot on a cold winters night with the fire crackling away, glass of wine in hand.
From the dining area, the alfresco lounge area under the grapevine beckons. Sit here in the shade and take in the long view up to the big hill, watch the cows grazing in the fields, listen to the birds in the garden. Just be.
Grab a book from the downstairs library, or other bookshelves around the house (our book collection is extensive), read outside on the swing bed and seats tucked away in the garden or upstairs on the master bedroom window seat, upstairs atrium lounge or either balcony.
The downstairs bedroom looks out to a shaded, cobbled garden featuring weeping Japanese maples and tree ferns. Right next door is the downstairs bathroom with freestanding bath and garden window with cosy floor heating in winter. Walk further down the hall to the laundry and separate toilet and side door.
The upstairs master bedroom features stunning views across the valley from the bed. Almost the perfect spot to watch the clouds drift by against the mountain backdrop- unless, of course, you are soaking in the ensuite bath looking up through the window above.
The downstairs area is fully air conditioned as well as the upstairs master bedroom. There is a wood burning fire in winter and floor heating in the bathrooms.
An additional upstairs queen bedroom is made available for five guests.
A double bedroom, also upstairs, is made available for six guests
